Driven by a love affair with aviation journalism spanning over 15 years, Alan is focus on elevating aviation media into an art form of visceral imagery and immersive storytelling. His journey into the world of military storytelling began in 2010 when he was embedded on the US Navy hospital ship the USNS Comfort during the aftermath of the Haitian earthquake documenting the navy’s largest humanitarian response in history. The experience cemented his passion and desire to document the incredible work or our armed services. Over the years he’s embedded on several navy ships and has worked with the Army, Marines and the Air Force writing and shooting articles for several newspapers and magazines.
In 2023, Alan had the extraordinary rare opportunity to embed with the Blue Angels squadron for their entire season. While writing several articles about the team, he began to interview several former Blue Angel pilots, sparking a desire to start focusing exclusively on military aviation. This led to an epic five-day motorcycle trip with former Blue Angel pilot John "Gucci" Foley focused on learning more about the mindset of these incredible pilots on a very personal level. The story is set to be released in book form sometime later in 2025 titled "Riding with an Angel," a captivating account of his five-day adventure with Foley.
